Q: What makes this program different from other leadership development programs?
This program is different from others in a few key ways. First, it gives members access to both executive and career coaches—not just one or the other. Members can attend unlimited coaching calls, whereas many similar communities up-sell for coaching.
Next, it’s designed for women across industries, functions, and levels. Many communities focus on narrower groups like “women in tech” or “c-suite women.” Our strength is in our diversity of thought, experience, and exposure. It’s not uncommon for a new manager in healthcare to get advice from a seasoned director in tech (and vice versa). The depth and breadth of conversation that comes from the many perspectives in the room is a core part of what makes us unique.
We also offer a proprietary 12-week curriculum that members complete at their own pace. Each member is paired with an accountability partner to support progress, introspection, and connection.
Additionally, the program takes place outside company walls, creating virtually no lift for companies to participate.
Lastly, our price point is intentionally competitive given the level of access members receive to top-tier coaches.
Q: What is the criteria for membership?
Our members must identify as female, and we ask that they have at least eight years of professional experience. We also look for a demonstrated trajectory toward leadership roles and a track record of accomplishments—such as industry awards, publications, community involvement, or regular conference attendance.
We ask that members have a genuine interest in networking with other members and be willing to both give and receive value within the community. We also require that members maintain a LinkedIn profile for identity verification purposes.
Q: Am I too young/old to join?
We don’t have age restrictions. We have women who have just reached the eight-year mark in their professional journey, as well as women who are approaching retirement. Age diversity is important to us!
Q: Why is it just for women?
We believe that magical things happen when women are in rooms together. Our Founder, Julia Korn, began her career in finance as the only woman on a team of ten men. She quickly realized how crucial it would have been to have a woman-only space to seek guidance, share experiences, and access coaching tailored to her challenges.
Even though progress has been made toward workplace equality, the reality is stark. The gender wage gap has widened for the first time in decades, with women in the U.S. earning, on average, just 84 cents for every dollar earned by men. Studies show that women still shoulder a disproportionate share of caregiving and household responsibilities, even while working full time. Women also face systemic barriers at work: being policed on personality traits, being passed over for promotions, underrepresented in leadership, and often lacking the executive-level sponsorship that can accelerate careers.
We know that women are natural networkers and community builders. By creating a space exclusively for women, we amplify the power of shared experience, mentorship, and support. This isn’t just about career growth—it’s about rewriting the rules so women can thrive, lead, and lift each other up in ways that only a women-centered community can enable.
Q: What are some outcomes the women in your program have seen?
Outcomes are unique to each member, but the impact is consistently profound. Women in our program regularly experience accelerated career growth: they get promoted, secure raises, land new roles, and gain the confidence to advocate for themselves. Beyond tangible career wins, they also grow in clarity and self-awareness—understanding their values, strengths, and priorities, and learning to say no to opportunities that don’t serve them.
Members report stronger, more effective relationships at work, including better collaboration with bosses and colleagues. Many describe feeling happier, more competent, and more in control of their professional journey. In short, the program doesn’t just help women advance—it equips them to thrive in every aspect of their careers.
Across the board, our data shows that women who engage deeply with coaching, accountability, and peer support experience measurable increases in confidence, career satisfaction, and leadership presence. These are outcomes that compound over time, creating lasting impact both professionally and personally.
Q: Will my company pay for this?
We believe that if you’re investing in your leadership development while on the job, your company should support that investment. Once you enroll, we’ll equip you with everything you need to make the ask confidently—including email templates, presentation decks, and step-by-step guidance.
If your company decides not to cover the cost, our pricing is designed to remain competitive compared to similar programs, ensuring the value of coaching, community, and curriculum is accessible. Either way, we make it easy for members to get the support they need—whether from their company or directly themselves.
Q: Do I have to be employed to join?
No. Employment is not required, and we don’t have any rules against joining while unemployed. It’s just not the norm. We do have members who are between jobs, and they often use our coaching sessions for support with job searching and networking. Being in a community where most members are employed can actually be helpful—people are generous with connections and advice.
That said, WLA isn’t a job-seeking community. Most members who become unemployed do so after joining, often because coaching gives them clarity to make a change. They usually stay as they navigate their transition and begin their next chapter.
Q: Is this a community for entrepreneurs?
No. This community is designed for women who work within companies, not full-time entrepreneurs. We don’t offer the kind of support most entrepreneurs need, and there are many communities better suited for that.
If you’re employed at a company and exploring a side hustle, many of our members do that and get coaching on it. But this isn’t the place for guidance on things like forming an LLC, building a website, or other entrepreneurial operations.
Q: What’s the financial and time investment?
Membership is $1,500 annually, paid upfront. We host bi-weekly coaching sessions and monthly events. During the initial 12-week curriculum, expect to spend about an hour per week; after that, the time commitment decreases.
We generally recommend planning for 1–2 hours per month to get and give real value. Some members attend everything, while others step back during busy periods—there are no strict requirements. The women who benefit most tend to engage at that 1–2 hour/month level, which also leaves space for asynchronous participation in the community and curriculum.
Q: If I’m on the fence about making the investment, can I talk to someone from the community to get an unbiased opinion?
We protect our members’ confidentiality, so we don’t facilitate direct introductions. However, we have several public testimonials on our website from members who’ve consented to be contacted. You can also look for the Women’s Leadership Accelerator badge on LinkedIn—those members are comfortable being reached out to.
Q: I represent a company and I’m looking to partner. Does WLA do corporate partnerships?
Yes! We work with companies that want to invest in coaching and leadership development for women high potentials but don’t have in-house programs. We require a minimum of 10 seats and provide a full, white-glove experience. Reach out through the contact form on our website.
